Jordan boasts a good range of hotels and resorts for all types of visitors and budgets. Most five- and four-star properties are found in Amman, Petra, the Dead Sea area, and Aqaba.

Outside these areas accommodations are limited, even for backpackers in search of cheap digs. For example, the popular city of Jerash has nothing to offer visitors by way of accommodations. Most visitors stay in either Amman or Ajlun and visit Jerash as part of a day trip - only 30 kilometers away.
